Some “Very” Good Advice

Apropos an earlier discussion about “pet” words in our writing, here is some advice from my hero:

Substitute “damn” every time you’re inclined to write “very;” your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be.

Now I’ve got to get very busy with my revision!
