Ladies of the Club

Women comprise the majority of writers for children and young adults. I say that because it could easily be thought otherwise since men often dominate conference line-ups and media focus. Me, I sometimes grouse and gripe about that. People like Kate Messner take action.

Head over to her blog for an inspiring and thought-provoking post, “33 Rules of Writing from Some of the Most Brilliant Women in Children’s and YA Literature.” I don’t know if I’m comfortable being called brilliant, but I do work hard and I was pleased to be asked to contribute and honored to be included in such good, rowdy, gutsy company.
