Welcome to Monica Hodges, fellow Washingtonian, and teacher librarian! Thanks for playing along. Let’s dive right in:
Please fill in the blank: You should never read and (blank) at the same time.
You should never read and drive at the same time, but I have seen people try to do it.
If you were invited to be on Oprah, what book would you bring for her to read?
I would like her to read Wonder by RJ Palacio because I think that everyone should read it, not just Oprah.
What is the funniest book you’ve read?
Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus or any Elephant and Piggie, (all by Mo Willems) especially when they are read aloud to a silly group of kindergarteners.
What is the saddest?
Recently: Rain Reign by Ann M. Martin made me cry, Ever: The Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson makes me cry just thinking about it
Favorite reading snack/beverage?
I like read and knit and drink coffee at the same time. Sometimes I throw in watching hockey on TV also.
What’s next on your TBR list?
The list is never-ending, so I included a photo to emphasize how hard it is to choose from the great books I have not read yet! Maybe I could get some advice on where to start before the pile grows, which could be very soon.
I have to admire anyone who can read, knit, drink coffee, and watch hockey at the same time! It’s also nice to find I am not the only person on the planet who has not yet read Eleanor & Park and Brown Girl Dreaming. I hope get to both soon as well. Thanks for the post.
Thank you Kirby! I am honored to be on your blog today. And to Rosi, I did finish Eleanor and Park since I filled this out, but Brown Girl Dreaming is still on my to read pile, which has grown since then also.
