Teacher Tuesday

What sheer joy it is to host my very dear friend Colby Sharp today. Not only is Colby the dearest man I know, he is the Nerdiest. (and I mean that in the nicest way). I am so pleased he agreed to play along with my Teacher Tuesday quiz.

Colby, please fill in the blank:  You should never read and (blank) at the same time.

Fall asleep at the same time. Nothing wakes you up like dropping on a book on your face.

If you were invited to be on Oprah, what book would you bring for her to read?

Wolfie the Bunny, by Amy Dyckman. Oprah’s book club is really misses out by not featuring picture books.

What is the funniest book you’ve read?

Wow. Um. That’s a tough one. I’d probably go with Tom Angleberger’s Fake Mustache. It’s so over the top and ridiculous. Back in the day when I taught fourth grade it was a super fun book to read aloud.

What is the saddest?

Fig Pudding by Ralph Fletcher is the saddest book I have ever read aloud, and Our Only May Amelia by Jennifer L. Holm is probably the saddest book I have ever read to myself.

Favorite reading snack/beverage?

Mike & Ikes. I really like candy.

What’s next on your TBR list?

The Hired Girl by Laura Amy Schlitz.

Thanks for some interesting book suggestions. I’m always looking for more good books. By the way, it is Monday today.
