Thinking about this makes me think about how, when I was growing up, doing things “like a girl” was an insult. I am so thrilled we have outgrown that way of thinking! I mean, who wouldn’t want to throw like Mo’ne Davis, run like Mary Cain, or use their brainpower like Deepika Kurup?

I love to write about strong girl characters and in April I’m going to celebrate strong girl characters with a #ReadLikeAGirl campaign. Starting April 1 (no fooling), visit my Facebook page to enter the Girl Power Giveaway. Six great books plus a #ReadLikeAGirl bookbag.
