A Literary Feast

How cool is this? I not only get to spend all day today talking about writing and about books on beautiful Whidbey Island, but I get to have dinner tonight with
Elizabeth George and Jamie Ford!

If you haven’t read any of Elizabeth’s Inspector Lynley books, you are missing out big time. And my copy of her book on writing, Write Away, is dog-eared and underlined. In addition to being a nice guy, Jamie Ford has written a terrific historical novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.

You weren’t able to get to Whidbey for this amazing day? Well, keep your eyes peeled. If all goes well, the incredible Whidbey Island Writer’s Conference will relaunch in 2011!

Really cool. I’m driving down from Bellingham in a couple of hours (so I won’t get lost) to go this wonderful dinner. Hope to see you there. Enjoyed your presentation at WSHM a couple of weeks ago.

Hey Kirby–was great seeing you. I loved meeting Elizabeth as well. And I like her photo, maybe I should get my 100lb Golden Retriever in on my next author photo shoot…slobbering all over the lens…

    Cheers!

    That’s very cool!

I’ve never been to the Whidbey Island Writers’ Conference, but I’ve heard great things about it!
