To celebrate their 110th anniversary, the University Bookstore invited local authors to contribute 110 word stories to a special publication, 110/110. I had a lot of fun writing mine (I’ll share after the big launch) but it got me to thinking about the number ten (this is 2010, after all) and wondering if I could write a story in 10 words — titles not included. Here’s my stab at it (sadly, based on real life). I’d love it if you’d share yours!
A GOOD BOOK
One more chapter. Maybe two. Okay, three.
Burned dinner.
Again.
Burned dinner.
Again.
I had (as my kids would say) a book to self connection. 🙂
So cool about UBS!
WINTER
Snow!
Shovel driveway. Scrape windshield.
Slip. Slide. Skid. Stop?
Ski!
I love this, Kirby! It’s like Haiku in prose.
How about:
RESEARCH
Another fact – another clue!
Follow twisting trivia
to find truth.
SUCCESS
Tired student
Cup of tea
Rejuvenation
Second wind
Assignment finished!
Oh, I love these! I’m thinking I should make this a monthly feature. Keep us all writing.
These are so fun. Thanks Kirby!
Ah, Kjersten — you get off the hook this time because of your big move but my next Ten in 2010, I expect a story! 😉
